With the holidays coming up it’s a great time to think about that perfect gift. If you have any friends who are thinking about becoming first-time home buyers in the near future, these books may be just the right gift.

  • “100 Questions Every First Time Home Buyer Should Ask”, by Ilyce Glink. Buying your first home can be quite scary. This books walks first-time homebuyers through the process. Each chapter is devoted to very important topics that are involved with buying your first home.

  • “Home Buying for Dummies”, by Eric Tyson and Ray Brown. Includes details on how to select a tax-free account when saving for a down payment, understanding the mortgage crisis, why home prices rise and fall, and the importance of a home inspection.
  • “Nolo’s Essential Guide to Buying Your First Home”, by Ilona Bray. This book comes with an interactive CD and audio tool kit. The kit includes forms to assist with determining how much money you can devote to buying a new home, how to determine the right home for you, and even where to get the down payment for your home.
