5 Ways to Add Condo Curb Appeal

April 9, 2010 | 127 Comments

According the the National Association of Realtors, sales of condos and co-ops accounted for nearly 13% of all home sales in 2009. Inventory on these types of homes is still high in many areas and buyers sometimes have a hard time making up their minds as to which condo they want. Here are a few ways to increase your chance of selling that condo or co-op.

  • Make the front door shine. Keep it simple, clean and attractive. A nice welcome mat is always a great touch.
  • Get friendly with the neighbors-it can go a long way.
  • Show off hidden treasures. If the front of the building is common or unattractive, highlight the back porch, deck or flower garden.
  • Tidy up the mail. Add a nice basket for overflow mail. Make sure hallways are tidy and free of any clutter.
  • Team up with the HOA. When there are many units for sale in a building, make sure the HOA is working with you to keep the building looking nice. Improvements such a sprucing up the lobby or ensuring proper lighting can go a long way.
