Actor Tom Selleck recently offered up his voice for a Coldwell Banker television ad campaign that spotlights the positive aspects of home ownership, ready to air in time for the spring selling season.

Selleck has family ties to the real estate business. His father, now retired, served as an executive with Coldwell Banker for nearly 40 years and his two brothers and sister also worked with the real estate brokerage.

This was indeed a “proud moment when I was able to tell my mom that I was at last in the ‘family business,’” Selleck says.

The former “Magnum P.I.” star and Emmy and Golden Globe winner talks up the value of home ownership in the ad campaigns, which  aim to evoke the psychological and emotional ties of home ownership.

“All we see is negativity in the market,” Michael Fischer, Coldwell Banker Real Estate’s chief marketing officer, told Inman News. “People are putting their life on hold. No one’s talking about the positive aspect of home ownership.”

The campaign will air in March through June during prime-time programming on major networks.
